Menzies Institute for Medical Research exists to improve human health and well-being by performing excellent basic, clinical and population health research. Research focuses on the major diseases affecting the Australian community, including arthritis, cancer, dementia, diabetes, heart disease, mental health problems and multiple sclerosis. Our research takes a bench-to-bedside and disease prevention approach and is aimed at improving patient care and clinical outcomes for the community by translating knowledge into clinical and policy actions. Menzies trains and educates future research scientists, clinicians and related health professionals.
Medical research not only takes time and commitment, but also significant resources. Philanthropic support is vital to the success of Menzies and our goal of building a happier and healthier community.
