As you know, the Business Events Tasmania (BET) Board has been overseeing a process to recruit a new Chief Executive Officer, to replace Stuart Nettlefold who will be leaving the organisation at the end of April 2018.
They have recently concluded the process and are very pleased to advise that the new CEO will be Marnie Craig.
Marnie is currently the Housing Industry Association’s National Marketing and Communications Project Manager, a role she has been undertaking from Tasmania since she moved here in 2013.
Marnie has become a passionate Tasmanian and a key driver for her application for the BET CEO role was her interest in becoming closer to the Tasmanian business community.
Marnie has a strong sales background and also demonstrates strengths in relationship management, customer and member relations, commercial acumen, and leading change.
The board is delighted with her decision to accept the offer and considers that Marnie will be an excellent fit for the organisation and team. They believe that Marnie is well placed to continue to drive Tasmania’s share of business events and the related economic and social benefits for the State. They are also very pleased that this appointment will see another woman being added to the ranks of Tasmanian CEOs.
Marnie lives in Hobart with her husband and two children, and will commence in the new role in May.
