Hobart’s ready for big week of conferencing

With blue skies and sunshine, Hobart is set to host two significant national events this week.

Hotel Grand Chancellor Hobart is looking forward to welcoming Financial Counselling Australia today, the peak body for financial counsellors in Australia, for their national conference.  With pre-conference forums starting today and official conferencing running Tuesday and Wednesday this week, finishing with post-conference workshops on Thursday.

Approximately 600 delegates are expected to attend the national conference in Hobart with all conferencing and event gala dinner to be held at the waterfront hotel and conference centre. Delegates have the opportunity to start each day with guided walking tours of the picturesque city.

Later in the week, Wrest Point Convention and Exhibition Centre will welcome over 900 women singers from Thursday 17 May to Sunday 20 May 2018 to compete in the ‘Hobart In Harmony’ 2018 Sweet Adelines Regional Chorus and Quartet competition.

The four-day event includes two days of intense competition between 23 quartets and 23 choruses from all over Australia, all vying to win the championships and the honour of representing Australia at the international competition held in the USA. Local chorus, Hobart Harmony Chorus, will represent Tasmania.

Business Events Tasmania CEO Stuart Nettlefold said “We’re continuing to see great delegate attendance at Hobart conferences and business events and these two events are no exception.  With everything so easily accessible and great options for pre and post touring, delegates are loving Tasmania.”
